Into Unknown Waters

It's escaping! No good, no good..., he though. He ran as fast as he could to the water yet he never gained any ground. Soon enough they were upon the water, and it had gone without thinking to the bottom of the lake. Not that it could dissuade him from not getting to it.
He jumped after it.
